Biography
Carly was born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia. As a child, she was drawn to performing when she was enrolled in dance classes at the age of three, as her love for this art grew she expanded her movement vocabulary in styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, break, latin/salsa and musical theatre styles. She learned to be a versatile performer at a young age and also learned to play the piano and speak French and Spanish. While expanding her early repertoire, Carly sang with her school choir, danced and choreographed for many recitals and performed in four community theatre musicals before getting accepted to college. Carly received her education and training at the Canadian College of Performing Arts, in Victoria BC, where she received a Diploma in performing arts after completing her third year. In her third practical year called Company C, she formed a company with twelve students where they produced and performed three professional shows in four months. Additionally, Carly has studied under many renowned teachers including Jacques Lemay, Dr. Iris MacGreggor-Bannerman, Dr. Marvin Regier, Matthew Howe, Barbara Poggemiller, J.P. Fournier, Amalia Schelhorn, Janice Tooby-McDonald, John Emmet-Tracy, Darcy Evans and Liza Balkin.
As a well rounded performer, Carly’s passion for creative collaboration, writing and choreography has continued to grow alongside her love for on-screen acting and Shakespeare. Her greatest rewards come from the collaborations she shares with fellow artists and with the audiences who share in her ongoing growth in the arts. She is currently living and working in Calgary, Alberta, where she continues to perfect her craft.
